which has developped in the last decades from snapshots, over documentary photography to narrative, subjective and conceptional photographic works of art...
This website should give you an idea about the intentions and meanings behind some of my work groups .
About my work
Some of the works you´ll find on the following pages seem to deal on the first glance with terms such as perverted sexuallity, sadomasochism, bondage, fetish. ... or even seem to glamorize violance , brutality, torture ... but if you dare to take a closer look into the thought behind these works you may find they are definitely neither intended to be superficial voyeuristic "glamour photography" nor violance glorifing snuff photography produced as jerk-off-files !
These works are my artistic approach to question alternative ways of loving and relations ... ask what is tenderness ... tell about trust, respect and esteem ...
They try to make understand the decision of the one who give her-/ himself with confidence into the hands of a partner ... make feel that a lot of selfconfidence and courage is necessary to make that decision ... make graspable the beauty which lies in the idea behind "give oneself well and truly with body, mind and soul to that chosen one" ...
Other work groups are playing with calculated reduction of information in the picture .... they are too blurry, too underexposured ... to be truly decoded --- the viewer has to fill in his own interpretations and sees so his own version of the picture which evolves from his own experience or bended mind ...
still others disclose the distorted coverage of sexual issues in mass media ... and others play with our ambivalency between being attracted and disgusted by violence ...and others ... and..and..and

It started off ...
in the 1970´s .. snapshots and documentary photos ... I was running arround shooting pictures showing the beauty and magic of things and persons I came across on my journeys arround the world ... or just telling about the things happening arround me ....
Somehow in the 1990´s, .... I felt only "documenting and showing" just is not enough to make people think ... or change something...
so my photos got more narrative, intensive and manipulative .... involving the viewer ... playing with their fears ... confront them with their hidden desires ... provocate!!
And thats still goes on ... NO MORE NICE PHOTOS !... but pictures that make you go " hmmm"
